About Salon 1884

Salon 1884 is a luxury clothing label founded by artist and designer, Andrea Mary Marshall.

Known for her self portraiture, Marshall’s artwork encompasses photography, painting, and mixed media. Along with a successful career in fine art, Marshall has over 15 years of fashion design experience and received her BFA from Parsons School of Design. In 2023, Marshall was named an Interim Member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America.

Inspired to combine both disciplines, Marshall presents Salon 1884, named after the Parisian art exhibition famed for unveiling John Singer Sargent’s “Madame X.”

With a focus on exceptional craftsmanship and sustainable practices, each collection is designed for the modern woman and her unique approach to style. Salon 1884 is bold yet subtle, strong yet sensual, contemporary yet timeless.

Salon 1884 launched in 2021 exclusively through Neiman Marcus stores and has been featured on Forbes, WWD and Vogue.com. The brand has expanded it’s wholesale distribution to leading global luxury retailers, Net-A-Porter and Moda Operandi.

In 2024, Marshall launched her namesake brand, Andrea Mary Marshall, a demi-couture fashion label with an emphasis on creativity and craftsmanship. Andrea Mary Marshall will present twice yearly during Fall/Winter and Spring/Summer Fashion Week, while Salon 1884 will be showcased during the Pre Fall and Pre Spring Market Weeks.

Salon 1884 is responsibly made with environmentally-conscious materials and manufactured in The United States in New York City’s Garment Center.
